While being a licensed stylist since 2017, Jasmine struggled with PCOS and self-confidence. Her self confidence issues started back in high school after a group of "mean girls" decided to down grade and disrespect her. What caused all of the hate? She was a girl that started dating a boy.... that appariently everyone liked. She was new to town, and that's how her reputation started. School was once an escape then moving to this school caused her to hate it. Little did everyone know her escape was school. Jasmine's parents were active alcoholics and very abusive to each other, but despite the things she encountered at home, she stayed strong and kept pushing! Jasmine graduated high school at sixteen and enrolled to college to pursue an accounting degree. After one year of college she decided, it was not for her and she wanted to go to hair school! As she started her hair career and worked a long side some AMAZING people, she started to embrace her self worth and confidence explode. She was so passionate to provide for her guests and started to realize the confidence she brought them while being in her chair. That confidence radiated to her. Inspired, she decided to leave her corporate salon job and went self employed. In a short 4 months she decided to open her first J CO. location and make it a salon for guests to enjoy their time in the salon without feeling judged and out of place. After opening her own salon in 2022, she opened up her own barbershop to provide stylists a great work life balance while providing guests with a classic/modern twist. Can you believe she was barber trained? Well, believe it! She worked behind the chair and specialized in men's hair for 4.5 years. While still creating magic behind the chair, she was working on herself. She started to loose weight and embrace her natural beauty instead of hiding behind a full face of makeup. Not that she was against makeup but she felt better and felt that she could embrace who she really is confidently. This is what brought on the J CO. brand. In 2023 she started J CO. Inc. with the goal to provide affordable custom hair extensions, hair care and skin care products. Her goal is to have a brand that helps individuals embrace who they are and bring out their confidence. Jasmine stands behind being true to yourself and ignoring the negative people. She wants to help empower all the people that may have the lack of self worth or that have negative experiences that have made them feel less confident.
